J. B. Contractors and Development, LLC is a business that operates out of the Houston metropolitan area in Alvin, Texas. They operate their business at 17402 FAA Rd in Alvin, but they are also known to use a PO Box in Pearland, TX.  The owner of the company is Jephery Burnett (he also uses the alias of Jeph Rants). 

The purpose of this page is to alert consumers of the business practices of Jephery Burnett, JB Contractors & Development, LLC, Third Coast Investments, LLC  and Jeph Rants.

It has also come to my attention that Jeph Burnett is also attempting to pass himself off as a "Motivational Speaker" or "Life Coach". BEWARE... he also uses the name of Jeph Rants.

**UPDATE December 2009** 

Dear Readers;

 

Recently the owner of JB Contractors contacted me asking me to take down this Consumer Alert. He claims that it provides no value to my readers, and is very misleading. In addition, he also gave his explanation of the outcome of each case, which I have posted below. I believe that every consumer has a right to know how a company conducts business, but it is hard to find the time to research thoroughly. I have posted documents as recorded on the respective county websites.  While researching this company, I also found that there are tax liens against them, and a recent foreclosure. I've posted those documents below, as they are found on the Brazoria county website.

This is not correct and can be verified by simply going to the county website.

Returns no results and is not a valid case in the Harris County Court.

J.B. Contractors & Development, LLC was the consumer in this case and a settlement has been reached in mediation as well as satisfied.

case# 50259
J.B. Contractors & Development, LLC was not the responsible party in this suit and was called before the court due to its relationship with a developer and not due to its actions.


case # 58757 I have no information at this time and the information could not be accessed via the County website.

case # 200604144 this case was dismissed with an agreed judgment and never went to trial. Additionally a counter suit was filed for none payment and was too settled out of court.

Those are the facts all verified via the sites you provided. Please research what you allow to be posted on your site before allowing it to Defame and Slander J.B. Contractors & Development, LLC further.

 **UPDATE January 2010**

Jeph Burnett also is the owner of Third Coast Investments, LLC. Recently he lost a court case in JP court against his tenants. They were suing him for the return of their security deposit and payment of their utilities, as per the rental contract that they signed with Third Coast Investments. He has yet to pay them the money for the judgment that was awarded to them.

Recently, I was contacted by the attorney for the plantiff in one of the below court cases. He wanted to set the record straight, as you can see by his account (as well as looking at the court documents online), it differs greatly from what Jeph states.

I am the attorney for the plaintiff who received a $75,000.00 judgment against Jephrey Burnett and J.B. Contractors & Development, LLC. in Case No. 2006-04144 in 189th District Court of Harris County, Texas. There was no counter-suit at all. The judgment resulted from an arbitration award after a hearing. The judgment included a finding of fraud against Jephrey Burnett and J.B. Contractors & Development, LLC. He has not paid the judgment.
